Once you register as a LAP-BAND^® System referring physician, you will have access to any of the 1,836 LAP-BAND^® System certified surgeons. You will also receive a starter kit containing useful materials to help you identify which patients may be right for the LAP-BAND^® System surgery.

Please allow 6-8 weeks to receive your starter kit of information.

Included in this kit is literature regarding clinical experience with the LAP-BAND^® System that demonstrates weight-loss related resolution or improvement in a variety of common and serious obesity related comorbidities that may be present in your patients.

In 4 published studies addressing specific comorbidities, weight loss resulting from the LAP-BAND^® System surgery resulted in at least 90% resolution or improvement in type 2 diabetes, asthma, sleep apnea, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.^7,8,9,10

Your starter kit will also include a brochure highlighting the features and benefits of the LAP-BAND^® System, and comments from an actual LAP-BAND^® System patient, his physician, and his surgeon. We will also include a convenient counseling tool to help you discuss and educate your severely obese patients about the LAP-BAND^® System.

Within 6-8 weeks, you’ll also receive your first issue of the LAP-BAND^® System Bulletin – Referring Physician Edition.  In addition, you’ll also be able to download educational materials for your patients and background information about the LAP-BAND^® System.
