BMI

Body Mass Index (BMI) is an important tool in determining your patient's degree of obesity. Use the following guidelines to determine if your patient is eligible for laproscopic gastric banding.

Classifications of BMI1:

BMI
Underweight: <18.5 kg/m2
Normal weight: 18.5–24.9 kg/m2
Overweight: 25–29.9 kg/m2
Obesity (Class I): 30–34.9 kg/m2
Obesity (Class II): 35–39.9 kg/m2
Extreme obesity (Class III): ≥40 kg/m2
